2025 UK Ageing Research Funders’ Forum Early Career Researchers’ event: registration now open

The rebooted UK Ageing Research Funders’ Forum (UKARFF) are delighted to announce their Early Career Researchers* (ECRs) event. Join us in-person 10:00-17:00 on Friday 7th February 2025 at the Health Foundation’s offices in Central London.

This is a great opportunity to explore the latest advancements in ageing-related research and connect with fellow researchers funded by members of UKARFF. This event is co-organised by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC)Dunhill Medical Trust (DMT)Health Foundation and the Medical Research Council (MRC).

The day will feature keynote speaker sessions, engaging talks, and poster presentations showcasing the latest ageing-related research from your peers. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to network and connect with fellow researchers. For those unable to attend, we plan to make recordings of the event available on the UKARFF website. For more information and to register, please visit the Eventbrite page.

The event is free**, and the registration and form completion deadline is Sunday 8th December 2024. Due to the venue’s limited capacity, priority will be given to ECRs* in the ageing field that are currently funded by UKARFF members and who are willing to present their work, either as a poster or in a talk. We are particularly seeking abstract submissions that align with the following themes (as highlighted by a UKARFF ECR survey):

As part of the registration process, ECRs* are invited to nominate themselves for a poster presentation and/or a speaking slot in the “Selected Abstracts/Talks from Attendees” section of the agenda. We will review all submissions to ensure a diverse representation of topics, work funded by UKARFF member organisations, career stages and speakers. The deadline to submit a title and abstract for a poster/talk is also Sunday 8th December 2024, and we’ll be in contact well ahead of the event to let you know if you have been selected for a poster or talk.

* For this particular event, by “Early Career Researchers (ECRs)”, we refer to post-doctoral researchers with three to ten years of post-doctoral research experience (taking into account any career breaks, parental leave, and the impacts of COVID-19 etc.).

** We are aiming for the costs of travel to the event for early career researchers to be covered by your respective UKARFF funderHowever, please do not book any travel yet, until we have confirmed this and your attendance. For any general enquiries about the event, feel free to contact the Dunhill Medical Trust at [email protected].
