Call for proposals now open: addressing age-related issues of hearing and/or vision through healthcare technologies

The expression of interest stage for our new funding call on the topic of addressing age-related issues of hearing and/or vision through healthcare technologies is now open. Full details of the call, including the timeline of what will be a two-stage process, are available in the call guidelines.

The deadline for expression of interest applications is 5pm on Friday 21st July 2023.

We welcome proposals from lead applicants at UK universities and approved research organisations, with co-applicants and collaborators from within and beyond academia. All proposals must address at least one of the below priority research topics:

  • Improving prediction and/or diagnosis.
  • Improving prevention and/or treatment.
  • Improving psychological wellbeing and/or the ability to carry out activities of daily living.
  • Reducing inequities in diagnosis, treatment and/or access to care and support.

We have allocated £2M to the call, though more may be available if we receive enough applications of a suitably high quality. The call aims to attract proposals focusing on a broad range of methodologies and approaches. Accordingly, we are offering flexibility in the type and duration of awards that can be applied for.
