Call for proposals now open: implementing evidence-based interventions to support older adults’ independence

The expression of interest stage for our new funding call on the topic of implementing evidence-based interventions to support older adults’ independence is now open. Full details of the call, including eligibility criteria and the application timeline, are available in the call guidelines

The deadline for having an expression of interest conversation with the Trust’s triage panel is Friday 6th September 2024.

We are looking to support proposals which seek to implement and evaluate existing, well-evidenced services / programmes / interventions, including generating evidence on their financial sustainability, to help secure their longer-term adoption. Proposals that specifically address needs in under-served communities are strongly encouraged.

We welcome proposals from lead applicants at UK universities, NHS, HSC or other UKRI-approved research organisations, with co-applicants and collaborators both from within and beyond academia. Prospective lead applicants from local authorities will have to demonstrate that there is suitable research infrastructure in place and that they are based in a research-active organisation that can deliver research-related activities. In particular, proposals must involve at least one partner / organisation which could support the longer term adoption of the intervention(s) following the end of the funding.

We have allocated £2.4M to the call, though more may be available if we receive enough applications of a suitably high quality. Applicants can apply for up to £1.2M for a maximum of four years. Given the types of programmes we are looking to support, we expect the value of most proposals to be at least £500k, although we welcome applications that include part-funding from other sources.

Join us for a webinar on Wednesday 17th of July 2024, from 11am to 12.30pm, to discuss the call in detail and ask questions. Register your place via Eventbrite.
