Supporting the career development of the UK’s most talented new ‘investigators’ towards becoming independent scientists, it focuses on one of our key strategic themes: improving the quality of life for older people.

The next round of our Joint Doctoral Training Fellowship scheme with the British Geriatrics Society is now open, with a deadline for applications of 14 March 2025.
We are collaborating with the Medical Research Council (MRC) to jointly fund their predoctoral clinical research training fellowship scheme, which provides registered healthcare professionals with funding to undertake a PhD.
